Reconnecting people to the parts
of themselves that they have split from and to the Earth
A
young woman friend of mine curled up before me, crying in a classic
fetal position. She was upset about the mess her love life was in.
Looking at her I saw that the fetal position she was in was broken
at the waist; her knees were not pulled up to her chest as in the
full fetal position. From this I could see that her chest (her heart)
was not connected with her pelvis ( her sexuality ). So I asked
her, was she able to be intimate with people she really cared about
and she said, “No.” I was given the opportunity to work
with her, using her body as both vehicle and tool. Through breathe,
movement and balance work, I was able to have her integrate the
chest and the pelvis. Emotions came pouring out as laughter, anger,
tears accompanied by just as many muscle tremors. Her process took
some time and by integrating her body, emotions and mind, surprisingly,
she was able to proudly introduce me to her fiancé.
